I feel bad for asking...."But are you SkyPriority?"
On an Intra-European flight today with KLM I had an unusual experience. They announced that boarding would start shortly and they put out the SkyPriority and Economy Lane signs.
30/35 People rushed to the SkyPriority Lane and waited to board, no one was waiting in the Economy lane. This seemed odd to me as the plane had just 100 seats.
So Boarding started and a couple of people boarded the plane. I walked to the back of the Line of 30 People and nothing seemed to be happening. None of them were moving. They had blocked the entrance to the SkyPriority Lane and no one could get through.
I decided to ask my fellow traveller in front on me
"Are you a SkyPriority member?"
Well....I got a quick and sharp response to the extent that she was (and implying how dare I even ask if she was).
They kept on announcing Business Class to board but no one was moving. And then it struck me the 30 people in front were not SkyPrority at all.
The lady I had just spoken to was not moving or even attempting to go to the front and I was stuck.
After a minute or so the boarding agents came over the crowd in SkyPriority Lane and asked if there were any SkyPriority members. Well I got my answer...there was 3 of us. A space was made by one side and we got through.
Should I have felt sorry for asking the question?
