What's really annoying is the AC/AP transfer shenanigans.
I don't remember what this was about (possibly threshold eUps), but I called Air Canada. They said "you've reached the wrong department, let me transfer you". Of course that sent me into a non-Elite queue, so it took a while.
"Thank you for calling Aeroplan..."
I explained the issue.
"Sorry, you need to talk to Air Canada."
"They just transferred me here."
"This is with their Altitude program, we don't deal with it."
So they transfer me. After being in the queue for 5 minutes, I hang up, and call the AC Elite line. No wait. This time the agent said he needed to transfer me, and I said "NO I JUST TRIED THAT". I finally got it dealt with after he spoke with a supervisor.
Now imagine doing this without priority access. 1 hour on hold with AC. They transfer you to AP. 15 minute hold. Then they tell you it needs to be AC. Another 1 hour hold.
