There are two Kai suites (room XX35 is the one I had, and room XX36 gets the Diamond Head view as well as full ocean front) and then there are also Malia suites on each floor (but from what I have heard, these have not been renovated as yet so dont go for a Malia suite unless its been renovated). If you are booking two suites, I cant see why they could not try to block off both suites on the same floor for you (the XX35 & XX36 rooms). They have 45 Kai suites, 48 Malia suites, & 23 Pualani ocean suites (these are at the other end of the curved building not on the Diamond head side, but they appear to be larger than the Kai suites).
Try
www.room77.com as it shows a lot of hotel's actual floor plans, you can search via rooms with doubles x 2 or Kings, suites, ocean view, city view etc and see photos of the view each room number has. I found it very helpful in the past.
thanks for the quick response. armed with this information, I call the Sheraton Waikiki back again. Magically, now most of the floor have 2 Kai suites. For the life of me, I can't understand why the staff (3 people) from the previous day insisted that there is only 1 Kai suite per floor. But it's finally cleared up, and they will try to put the two suites next to each other for my stay.
