I found a J fare OW AKL-BNE on NZ's 773 for $470 USD, booked via virgin australia. From what I've gathered, the EK A380 isn't worth an extra $330 (70%) for a flight time of this length.
Unless you grab a sale seat (ex-NZ cheaper than ex-Australia), where price was $NZ 600 ($USD 470) ow AKL-MEL/SYD/BNE on EK metal code-share QF flight number.
I'd never pay (personally at least) for a regular biz fare TT (unless I really needed the SC or had won the lottery).
