Sorry to say that, but from what I've read in a Chinese forum, this deal seems dead. There are three reports of denial due to multiple applications/existing accounts.
One ID applied using the magic link last night and was instantly approved. His wife applied today via the same link but denied after calling, the reason given was multiple applications. Both of them got a AA MC a week ago, and did not break the 8-day or 9-day rule.
I was about to apply tomorrow, which is my 67th day... sigh.... hope to hear more data points from you guys
