I've done Fiji and it is not as glamorous as the brochures and websites say. I'd need a $1000 a night resort to actually find the luxury I want and you'd get elsewhere for $500. I've not been to Tahiti, so I cannot say from experience, but if I had a choice from Fiji or Tahiti, I'd go to Tahiti.
