As so often it would make things complicated to be 100% honest all the time and in a country like the US where there is no real residency registration or verification (heck, they can't even verify how many millions of illegal immigrants there are) it provides absolutely zero problem to put a street address mailbox (Like UPS Shop & similar services) as your residential address. My ex girlfriend moved twice during the validity of her DL so the address itself was incorrect almost instantaneously after receiving it. OK it was a valid address at the time she applied for it but there is no practical reason behind it.

Actually, I would NEVER put my real address on a DL considering the purposes of a general ID as it is used in the US. Every left and right they ask for ID and I do not want some sleazy people (bars, liquor store, supermarkets) to know where I live. This I think is a basic form of privacy protection and goes especially for women.

If I have to provide inaccurate information for this on some form so be it, it's just the way it is in life. And in reality nobody gives a s... anyway!
