I flew on the A380 to Sydney earlier this year in Business, upgraded with my partners miles. Totally loved it, thought that from start to finish it was great. The EK Lounge in Auckland is utterly superior to Koru. Veuve clicquot, much better food offerings and just very very nice. The flight itself - the staff were lovely, and I thought the food probably on par with Air NZ, although I might just give EK the nod. Really loved the fact that you can lie the bed completely flat yourself. After a few glasses of champagne in the lounge and up in the air, it called for a little nana nap before arrival
One negative (if you can call it that) is that on EK you cant join your partner for dinner. That is one thing I do like about Air NZ seating.
