business class Airnz 777/747 vs Emirites/qantas A380
again it is all pretty subjective and really varies based on what you value and look for. On a 3-4 hour flight, service often isn't my most crucial measurement. food and wine - I rate EK better as they have the bar. it is novel at first but a definite point of difference and for a flight at 5-7pm departure time, a great way to enjoy the TT hop.
the EK lounge offers a greater array of food and drink choices too.
Service wise - NZ crew tend to be more friendly, EK crew more professional and proper, if that makes sense. put another way and probably summing up my high level comparisons of the two companies I would say EK is 'luxury', NZ is 'friendly'.
I hold status with both carriers but regardless of this I have never found status to do anything other than give me the occasional 'Hi Mr Smith, great to have you back with us. Let me know if there is anything I can do during the flight' personal greeting. In Premium cabins especially, I would expect the service delivery to be equal for everyone.
the one area EK falls short in is speed of meal delivery where I put it down to scale. NZ have a smaller cabin and generally get things done a bit quicker.
