Now that Marriott status matches to United Mileage Plus, I received my Marriott Gold Package in the mail. Apparently, part of Marriott Gold is a match to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Gold.

I have the United Presidential Plus CC, so I also have Avis President's.

I rent a car 4-6 times per year for a few days only each time. Most of the time, I would rather have a newer, more fuel efficient car than an older/larger car which seems to be the "upgrade" I get with Avis.

Avis has generally performed "meh" to "unbelievably poor" for me, so I'm definitely open to change. How does Hertz compare?
