I currently have the same issue. 400k miles with little to use them for other than upgrades. Two ideas I'm looking into:

1. Redemption for a couple tickets on ANA for their new First Class (Its suppose to be great). Need to check ANA availability on their site before calling Virgin to book.

2. Using the bulk of the points for a stay at Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco (or other Virgin Ltd. properties).
