Yes, I realize BER will probably not open until Germany has a proper chancellor again.....

However, I'm just wondering if this massive delay can somehow keep
Air Berlin at the current old airport... and keep the old airport open
forever with Air Berlin as the sole airport user?

It's a really selfish reason really.... currently I can exit the airport door
and be at my flat within 5 minutes by car. Heck, I can see the airport
from my window. If and when they move to BER, I'll havea much longer
ride... possibly 50 extra minutes by car....
