They give them out liberally because Marriott platinum is worth WAY more. and because it's not worth that much.

And the only way you are getting breakfast free, is if you are at a hotel that has a free continental breakfast for everyone.
This guy might be confusing IHG plat with Marriott Plat - which does give lounge access and breakfast. Read the benefits, this is not one of them and has never been one for me in the last few years as a IHG Plat.

So you get internet. :-D and I actually do get some upgrades to bigger rooms or rooms with view. That is true.
