AIUI, you will get the oneworld benefit if, and only if, the rules of your fare entitle you to standby (or in the case of irrops etc).
If your fare rules do not allow standby (as in the case of most BA fares), then BA's policy is that it doesn't do standby.
What if it is an AA codeshare? I'm not trying to be difficult, but it is a bit confusing? Would AA rules apply then?
