As i have unravelled this so far, after the last 8 years, BA's computer does not list Jersey as a country, and it is thus in the UK by default. However, BA also recognises that JER (the airport) isn't in the UK, and thus UK APD is not payable ... Which is why we fly CE/ET JER-LGW.

* E&OE, as I haven't checked any ancient Norman or French laws which may still be applicable.
