Going to waste for who?

-The airline made a profit and will cut fuel costs by some small degree by having 2 less pax on board.
-If the airline oversold by a couple pax those pax now have a seat.


You bought nonrefundable tickets, aka bet you would fly, and lost. Not trying to be harsh, I've done so myself. Fact is over a life time I will come out ahead, even if I miss a flight or two.
