Who's talking about adding service at any of those airports? It's re-allocating where those existing flights are being flown. What would be the need to have the merged airline fly 8X daily to PHL with no flights to ORD? They can shift a few of those flights over to ORD and end up with the same amount of flights out of the airport.
+1 No carrier is going to seek out adding head count or cost at a smaller station post-merger. If their staff and gate leases are not at full capacity today, they might add flights up to that capacity but, in general, the belief that a merged airline will do much beyond shrink total capacity at small stations (at least in the near term) seems a bit optimistic.
