+1 No carrier is going to seek out adding head count or cost at a smaller station post-merger. If their staff and gate leases are not at full capacity today, they might add flights up to that capacity but, in general, the belief that a merged airline will do much beyond shrink total capacity at small stations (at least in the near term) seems a bit optimistic.
