The most likely routing, unfortunately, is ORD-LHR-AMS. Even with ORD-LHR on AA metal, I think that the fees are somewhat high for intra-Europe on BA. One option is ORD-LHR on AA award, and then a paid LHR-AMS on BA, if that's not too high.
