For those who are more minimalistic or cheap, check out this NYT article about "uncruising" using the ferries. People actually duct tape their tents to the deck! I wonder how hard it is to get a stateroom? I suppose I wouldn't like it anyways because of the deck space and lounges being used as steerage.
