He tried to strike out on his own and, for reasons I am still trying to understand, he applied for the Club Carlson Visa and got declined (not enough credit history or something like that). Now he's coming to me for advice.
He'll be going abroad to study so a "no FT fee" card would seem sensible but my reading on here suggests that cards with no FT fees are often not the easiest to get when starting out (did I get that right?). What do I suggest he goes for? What card is he most likely to get approved for?
Thanks in advance for any help.
B of A Travel Rewards is obviously best if he really does have a good credit score, otherwise any no-fee Capital One (QuickSilver is best but a student card like Journey maybe all he can get if his score isn't really as good as he thinks it is)
