I had planned to stay there for just a few nights in early September to check it out and add a HIX to my list as 4th brand. But when I was in Singapore last week (and stayed in the HI as usually do) I went over and took a look.

I was not impressed, especially because of the huge construction sites next door and across the road. I feared that these would be loud, even at night, as I have terrible experiences when I stayed in another hotel a few years ago with a construction site just in front of my room.

Did the noise bother you at all?

Another potential issue is the lack of taxis. That may change when the hotel gets better known by taxi drivers, but when I was there there were no taxis at all and people were calling a cab to get one.

Anyway, I decided to change my booking and stay in the HI again. Maybe next year, if I need a HIX stay again :-)
