I was in a cozy room last night. It wasn't exactly spacious, but it wasn't claustrophobia-inducing either, by NYC standards.
As I mentioned before, I was offered nothing but a rude blowoff at checkin last night when I asked about breakfast ("your rate doesn't include breakfast", followed by "everyone wants something for nothing" under his breath - seriously!).
When I mentioned this on checkout, they said I should have been offered either a coupon for breakfast or 750 points. The manager promised to investigate.
Final glitch - they charged me two bucks to stow my bag. Manager said this was a "NYC union rule" (!).
Overall mixed experience.
