What is the difference between MQM, Base Mile and Bonus Mile?
From what I'm saying on my Delta account, Base mile are not used to gain elite status, so how are they different from Bonus Mile?

For example I rented a car through Hertz and got 0 MQM, 1400 Base miles and 500 Bonus Miles. What is the difference between these base miles and bonus ones?

Thanks!
MQM = Medallion Qualifying Miles...these are the only things that count toward elite states.

Base Miles & Bonus Miles do not count and for all intents and purposes there is no difference between the two. Base Miles are (as the name indicates) base miles earned - in your case you got 1400 miles for your Hertz Rental.

Bonus Miles are bonuses - they must have a promo with Hertz that earns you 500 bonus miles.

You'll also see the distinction in Base/Bonus on Flights. Base will be the true miles for the flights and BONUS will be extra miles earned for class of service and/or elite status
