I am sorry if there is a thread explaining it. I spent quite a time on the search tool of the forum and could find anything relevant to my question.

What is the difference between MQM, Base Mile and Bonus Mile?
From what I'm saying on my Delta account, Base mile are not used to gain elite status, so how are they different from Bonus Mile?

For example I rented a car through Hertz and got 0 MQM, 1400 Base miles and 500 Bonus Miles. What is the difference between these base miles and bonus ones?
