I am considering one of these cards, specifically the MB Plat but had 2 questions and a clarifier.

First of all my understanding (thanks to help here) is that the MB plat has all the benefits of the regular plat plus the mercedes bens specifics.

1) On the regular plat site it mentions 1x per $ on everything except you get an extra $1 per $ on travel booked through AMEX. I cannot find anything stating the same thing on the MB plat, can anyone confirm if this benefit also exists on the MB card ?

2) With regards to Starwood Benefits you get with AMEX Platinum. Specifically Starwood themselves state that in their membership program you need 25 nights to achieve gold status and 50 nights to achieve platinum. Therefore my question is since we get auto Starwood Gold level by holding platinum does that also give you the initial 25 night stay accumulation towards platinum ? In other words do we then only need to stay an extra 25 nights (first 25 nights covered by platinum amex upgrade to spg gold) to gain SPG Platinum status ?
