Definitely easier than DL, AA and US and way better than most Euro carriers who have fuel surcharges. Many of my friends have redeemed international flights within 14 days at saver levels.

It is better than Southwest if booking within 7 days (except that you have to pay close in fee), otherwise Southwest is better, especially if you are booking 21 days in advance, where you can get the lowest point redemption. JetBlue may be better too.
