LH:
FTL (35k status miles every 2 years) equals *S (+ access to LH C lounges) and is pretty much worthless
SEN (100k status miles every 2 years) is pretty bad; one long-haul upgrade every 2 years
award chart is even worse than AE, rules are more restrictive and M&M charges fuel surcharges on even more airlines than AE
Unless you buy full-fare C or F fares, M&M should be avoided IMO.
UA vs. AC:
- UA now has the better award chart and doesnīt charge fuel surcharges
- AC is still better than UA when it comes to international upgrades for mid-tier elites
- AC Es get lounge access, UA *G members donīt get lounge access on domestic itineraries
- UA elites get access to E+ seating and unlimited domestic upgrades
I used to argue that AC had much better benefits at the mid-tier level, but now benefits with both programs arenīt too exciting IMO.
For anyone earning 100k status miles per year AA, UA and AC all offer some nice benefits, but for anyone earning fewer miles benefits are quite limited IMO.
