I don't think it's less effort to make 2 bookings instead of one. Also, the OP may hope for the points of the other room.
Since I always need to have my bill changed "later" to get my company's address on it, changing the name at the same time is no additional work.
I think it's up to everyone by himself to weigh the advantages and disadvantages and decide his own preference.
