Don't at all want to inflame the conversation unnecessarily, but am I the only one that finds it hard to condemn Mr. Miranda's detention categorically? I mean, it's not far-fetched to assume that Mr. Miranda could be complicit in helping his partner to transport documents, either connected with the Snowden case, or with potentially another scandal exposé.

People who are involved in 'aggressively reporting about the government' (I paraphrase Glenn Greenwald's words) can't expect that they or those closely connected with them will be treated with silk gloves by the same government towards which they are aggressive.

Whether this was vindictive I don't and probably won't ever know. But I am not bold enough to make the assumption that immigration agents were bored and with nothing to do, and therefore decided to target Mr. Miranda...
