Timings aren't good for this though.
The A380 gets into LAX at around 7:05pm and, at least in November, the last American Airlines flight to LAS in at 8:10pm.
So you've an hour or less to get off the plane, clear customs and immigration and get to another terminal.

I had to book a separate flight on another airline to do this trip (Southwest around 9:20pm or United around 10:20pm are the only connecting options without an overnight stay in LA)
