The Statue of Liberty

One of the mornings we went to the Statue of Liberty but due to me booking the holiday very late the only time I could book was for an 8 am start! There were no ‘Crown’ tickets left, these are the ones which allow you to go right to the very top, so I had to make do with ‘Monument’ tickets which permit you to go about halfway up. Fine. Anyhow the Lady needs no introduction so here are some photos after my introduction.

The attraction had just only recently opened after some renovations but this was delayed by essential work which was caused by Hurricane Sandy which caused a lot of disruption at the time.

The queue at this very early hour were fairly busy bit after a 20 minute wait to board and go through security (airport like) we were on our way. It was cloudy this morning but after a while it did brighten up. In some ways I was glad we had went on the very first boat out as when we returned the crowds were really starting to build up.
