We were there last night - checked in about 5PM. We probably stay here 10-12 times a year usually at the weekend. Greeted by name at check in and one of the duty managers came over to speak to us as well.

Upgraded to large King (X48) which is at the corner of the hotel so a fairly large room and pretty quiet. I was asked (first time ever) if I wanted points or amenity. Chose points and they sent housekeeping to remove the amenity - which was 1 cream cracker and 2 slivers of Brie wrapped in cellophane. The wine is only supplied IME in a suite although the Diamond amenity used to be a snack and wine.

We had a very good stay - we have had mixed experiences and I am often contacted by the GM after a stay for my feedback. We wanted to find a restaurant I had found on tripadvisor - Chez Elles - a French restaurant at 45 Brick Lane. A little gem hidden amongst the Asian restaurants. Delightful and pretty waitresses and great food and service at a reasonable price.
