Concluding that either way, the seats aren't great. I'm actually going for a vacation so I'll save the miles and get a nap on arrival. On a 7.5 hour flight, it's really a question of 1-2 hours max of nap time anyways

Actually the seat itself is quite good. ALL business class seats involve some measure of compromise. With the sCO seat, the compromises are footwell size and aisle access (and perhaps less cushion than the sUA seat, but this is an issue of personal taste). All in all it's mid-pack or higher compared to the competition.
