Both are lie flat in BF. There is no significant seat difference between the aircraft. Taller passengers report the seats can be too short for comfortable sleeping. Foot wells are larger in row 1. IMO the 767 middle stack of single seats is the way to go for a solo traveler.

If miles are a concern and if you can secure an exit row I would tough out Y for a ~7 hour redeye flight. If you have a busy schedule the next day (like business meetings or more travel) you might spring for J. And if you can only afford miles one way I would choose CDG-EWR as that is a longer daytime flight.
