Tried (for ages) to find the answer to this. Earlier today noticed a schedule change on an AA operated and booked route. This has resulted in us having to take a completely different route, now all on BA. Original route was DUB-JFK-MIA-GCM on AA metal, booking into I and A for the various segments. The new route is DUB-LHR-GCM all on BA. Fare class on AA.com now shows as R. The flight has an AA record locator which is where I'm seeing the R class. On AA this seems to be Economy Upgrade (it does show as in the business class cabin) so I'm concerned I won't now get the TPs and Avios for an I booking.
When I look on BA.com an R fare just shows as in Business and seems to credit as normal (140 TPs for the TATL).
So is the R fare I can see the AA class, and if so do I now have an issue with getting full credit? Or did I just find duff information via google?
Also is it usual for there to be a delay before I can see this on BA.com. Return leg (which always had BA legs) shows ok but no sign of my new outbound yet, so I can't see what the fare shows per BA.
Final query, I was very surprised that they said I could now take the direct flight (BA253) just before Christmas as J is often sold out far in advance. What is the best tool for checking availability? I am basically nervous that our whole itinerary is shot and we are going to be sitting in the back of the plane with 35TPs to show for it
