Last weekend I was offered a $59 buy-up on my V fare for my AUS-IAH flight during OLCI (at 24h mark). I declined. Checked in for coach and 1 minute after completing check-in I received my CPU elite upgrade notification email. I'll classify this as a computer screw-up, but, boy, talk about feeling like you've been picked up by the ankles until every last penny drops out of your pockets.
