Many of the crew said it was the first time they had been on the aircraft at all. They were on the lower deck on the way out for a briefing / training (and that was closed to passengers) and then on the upper deck working on the way back. They were obviously very nervous, and I can imagine that there are lots of items which are familiar, but a bit different. All of the trolleys were completely new for example. One imagines that catches, and clips in the galley would be stiff and not 'broken in' yet. One can also imagine not wanting to push or pull something too hard for fear of being the crew member who 'broke the a380'!
It was the first EVER flight that a CSD came to greet me as a goldie. Hey, it only took about 20 segments since I qualified.
