Left my iPad on a KLM flight AMS-MUC and only realized at least an hour after we'd deplaned and of course the plane was already on it's way back to AMS. In dismay I returned to the KLM customer service/ticketing and they redirected me to the lost and found in the secure area. Thankfully they had my iPad and I was able to prove that it was mine by showing them my inbox as loaded on my phone screen which corresponded to my email loaded on the iPad. Phew!
