Interesting that the weather channel does this.
One of my relatives died in a mid-air collision and I don't think weather had anything to do with those planes crashing together.
Did they say weather was a major factor in such incidents? Usually seems to be more attributed to miscommunication and course/navigation/timing/plan mess ups.
The most recent mid-air collision I remember getting a lot of press is the one involving the Brazilian commercial carrier and an American-piloted private jet with an airline/travel journalist on board and that was unusual in that it took place so far away from an airport being used by one or the other for take-off or landing.
