I can't speak for domestic, although the security lines should be short, in fact, very short. (Even for Int'l.) The issue arises with the exit migration lines, and the competence of your airline checking you in. You are leaving before the worst of the evening flight bank.
+1 about the exit migration line. Each time we have been thru ifs been really slow. Last week we were stuck in a line behind a girl from Japan that didn't have an exit stamp somewhere in her passport...they didn't route us to a different agent or try to do anything different at all. We all waited 20 mins for them to slowly sort out what they were going to do with her.
For our flight to cuz, we were checked in and at our gate within 40 mins of walking in the front doors.
