Note that I always check for lower rates at places I'm staying 2-3-4 weeks in advance. Found this new rate yesterday - called my agent - my agent acted super quickly - and was able to rebook at the new lower rate for me (23 days from yesterday!). FWIW - I don't blame my agent for not finding the new rate. Agents have hundreds of bookings - and rates are changing all the time. An agent can't check every booking he/she has even once a week for rate changes - there aren't enough hours in the day! All I expect an agent to do is act quickly when I tell him/her about a rate change I've found.

I guess the downside is when there are promotions like this - it is often more difficult to get room upgrades - especially from the best room to the smallest (Executive) Suite. I took a look - and there is no Executive Suite availability (room category next higher from mine) during my whole stay! I don't mind because I have booked a room type I've stayed in before - and liked very much. The savings will pay for a few meals in Tokyo - or my electric bill in Florida in August . Robyn
