Since you can get fired for no reason at all, you can probably get fired for using a government rate on leisure travel. But have you seen documentation that your agency has such a policy, or is this just something that someone told you?
It is a standard orientation training topic informing employees that this falls under the written policy against using one's position for personal gain.
