Nobody should get this card for the rewards. Just as AmexPlatinum and Centurion are not rewards cards. Between LC, UC, and SC plus the great service and free access to cash globally the card serves a purpose for some of us. For someone who does not use or want such service the card does not make sense. I also like that I can charge over 100k a month and it does not report to the credit reporting agencies. The customer service and concierge are so much better than I've gotten from Amex Platinum.
I would not invest a penny with Chase for the privilege of getting this or any credit card as I do not need my money actively managed nor do I want to pay for such service. If someone wants this card they should talk to a banker at a CPC branch NOT someone from Chase's investment/wealth management team. The latter folks are basically right out of Glengarry Glen Ross:
Always Be Closing.
If you think people are wasting money on this card, I can just imagine what you think of Amex Centurion or even the average joe who gets Amex Platinum but does not take advantage of its perks. These are perks/benefits cards, not rewards cards.
