IME, it can take anything between a couple of days and many many weeks. But I usually don't bother to chase this if the absence of an e-ticket isn't hindering anything else and the flight is more than a week away.
Not so much hindering anything, but I'd prefer it if they took the money now - otherwise I'll forget and wonder where a £350 charge comes from...
