Here Horsey, Horsey... Equestrians in London

Just back from... London. Yay!!!

Unlike most intercontinental trips, mine began with a long drive from LAX to LHR on Air New Zealand flight 02.

You heard me right, I said "long drive". Heavy congestion into and out of Los Angeles International had Air Traffic Control directing the ANZ 777-300ER on a 30 minute taxi across the entire length and width of LAX to a cargo runway where we eventually went wheels up.

Now admittedly I have a soft spot for those Kiwi Girl accents, but quite honestly the Air New Zealand cabin crews are the nicest I've come across in the skies (and I'm talking waaayyy back in Economy). So nice that I will even forgive them for serving me a mystery Veg Meal which turned out to be...

Lacto Ovo Tortellini with yellow and green zucchini, minced salad, fruit cup, door stopper wheat roll, keebler crackers and a tiny cup of soy milk. What's with the soy milk?

At least my arrival in London was still On Time unlike someone else who was delayed something like 2 weeks...

Oh isn't he cute? That's right, I'm talking about me the handsome one on the left. (The far left)

There was a lot of buzz around town about the new Prince Georgie VII who will someday call Buckingham Palace home.

Anyways, own my home away from home was at the...

Hilton on Park Lane in the heart of Mayfair where my room had a view of...

The Garden behind Buckingham Palace and not so coincidentally I could also see...

My room at the Park Lane Hilton from Her Majesty's Garden. It's on the left if you look closely.

The hotel was awesome except for the fact that I was kept awake at night by the sound of ...

Horses?

No not that kind of horse!

Or even this well armed bad boy at the Wallace Collection... But more specifically this horse

and this horse

and even this horse

But these horses only appeared at night when the Multi-Multi-Multi Millionaires and Billionaires came out to play at the casinos and clubs surrounding the Hilton including the "Playboy Club" on Old Park Lane, "Les Ambassadeurs" on Hamilton Place, and London's swankest casino "Colony" on Hertford.

Arrivals and departures from the clubs were generally annouced from around 11 PM to 4 AM through the high decibel revving of 600 horsepower engines as supercars (Lamborghini, Maserati, Ferrari, Bugatti and I mean Veyron people) tested their 0-80 mph and 80-0 mph limits on London's tiny backstreets where they flashed by at 90mph like this...

But if you happen to catch one during the daytime it will most likely look like this...

Or probably more like this...

but I digress for there are other things in London to see such as...

"OMFG!!! It's AussieOzzie! Ooooohhh He's sooooo good looking!"

Yeah Eugenie and whatever your sister's name is, I know I'm eye candy but enough mewling and puking about me it's time to visit the...

Royal Mews where you will see the most glorious, spectacular, fantastic, incomparable, damn good looking Australian...

State Coach which just happens to be Her Majesty's newest ride. Check out the...

Emu and Roo on the side. Oooooooh! Awwwwww! I can almost see my fabulous reflection in the mirror finish. Of course there's always the Golden State Coach which is boring compared to the Australian ride but you already know that

That's just a quick tidbit about my stay in Her Majesty's Kingdom. I might be cajoled into sharing more of my 2 weeks in London depending on the comments received. Anyone interested? (BTW the answer is "Yes")

Cheers!
