There are two ways to interpret the OP's assertion that the daughter's card was charged without permission.
First, that AA charged her card without her permission to make charges to the card and should not have done so at any time.
Second, that the OP initially granted permission to charge the card, but when the charge didn't go through and the reservation disappeared AA never sought permission from any party to re-attempt the charge several days later.
The latter was my takeaway, YMMV.
With the reference to "they would at least have to speak to her " says to me that the poster is trying to suggest that AA should not have charged it at all despite it being the poster that gave the card details to the agent
