0.58p is the delta between the various cash and Avios combos. When I last compared a random selection of hotels for the blog, some were a LOT cheaper than their own websites and some were pricier.

Some Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza etcs are pushed out cheaply via ba.com, because it is treated as a membership site and outside the scope of the aggressive Best Rate Guarantee they run.
