MH used to require Platinum qualifying miles to be from MH flights only. The wording has changed after MH joined OneWorld. I don't know how it works in practice.
Simple.
Before OW, only qualifying flights on MH counted toward status. All other flights on partner airlines didn't. But now since joining OW, all MH and OW flights count toward status. But it still excludes non alliance partners. Like many FFP without an alliance , eg, QR now, you'd qualify towards status onlyon QR flights an not others. Come Oct, that will change.
