Both LAX and JFK have had the annoying habit lately of asking about food products and, at LAX, currency controls. Its pretty stupid, given that the GE machine has been made more specific about what food you need to declare (you know, what is actually written into the law, instead of the more general blue form). So now, I have to say "well, I have some mints" or something like that.
