In my own case I always make MVP and always fall just short of Gold. Since I know I will not make gold, once I earn MVP I start more aggressive price shopping of DL and AA. I even ended up booking a nonstop from SEA to LAX on DL, something I would never consider normally...but the price was right and I had already earned MVP.

My question is am I alone or do others do the same thing? If there are more of us out there than just me I am wondering if a rollover program might entice us to stick wiht AS once we make our elite qualification for the year?
... or it might DIScourage you from flying AS since if you roll over 10K miles, you only need 10K on AS to requalify...

Also: DL miles are AS+partner EQM.
